In an earlier career, I was one-half of a pioneering team that set a Guinness World Record for the highest base jump. It was a feat enabled by concerted effort: parachutist and mountaineer teaching one another our adventure skills so we could climb and jump from a 21,000-foot-high mountain in Pakistan. Corporates invited me to speak about the National Geographic-supported expedition and its multidisciplinary underpinnings at their high-achiever conferences. An enterprise helping cross-functional teams pursue far-reaching goals became established.

Promoting team performance (behavioural change) led to enabling business improvement (organisational change). Concerted’s first change-consulting assignment was for a corporate in 2002. Since then, we have:

• conducted reviews for government agencies and utilities

• produced analysis reports recommending where and how governments can realise $billions in productivity improvements

• implemented strategic and structural change for not-for-profit clients driven by standards of care and service values.
